The Feel Good Factor

Rate this book
A no-strings-attached fling with the fiery redhead who revs my engine? Why, yes, that does sound like a delicious perk of my new job in this new town, thank you very much. I’m coming off a bad relationship, and I have zero interest in anything serious. I’ve got all the serious I need helping my sister take care of her three little kids while her husband is deployed.

Except, surprise! The sexy redhead isn’t just my future fling. Turns out she’s my sexy, sassy landlord.

A lease definitely counts as “strings attached,” and as much as I’d like to get tangled in her sheets, I can’t let myself get tangled up in a relationship.

But as soon as we put the cuffs on our escapades, I learn over late-night conversations in the kitchen, that my landlord is so much more than the sexiest woman I’ve ever met– she has a quick mind and the biggest heart.

Once I’m in, I’m all in. And to convince her that we should see where this goes, I plan on turning up the heat—and not just in the kitchen...

She's a patrol cop; he's a paramedic who's recently moved to town to help his older sister with her kids while her husband's away. They meet when she pulls him over for speeding. They flirt. She likes his tattooed good looks and his dirty mouth. He likes her red hair and flirty, sarcastic mouth. Both have been burned before and aren't looking for a relationship. But they have some sizzling chemistry...So when he rents a room from her how long do you think before they act on that chemistry?

Well longer than you think because this book had an extended amount of verbal and physical foreplay to get the reader as hot and bothered as Perri and Derek were! And when they finally threw caution to the wind and went for it? Whew...

I really enjoyed this quick paced, sexy read, even if it took me weeks to finish (which was no reflection on the book, just a serious lack of time). There was just one little frustrating moment for me where I wished Perri and Derek communicated better, but thankfully it didn't last long. Which reminds me, I loved their little chalkboard messages.:)

A solid 4 1/2 stars

Perri is a cop in this cute little wine country town in California. She loves her job, her family, her besties. She doesn't have time to date!

Enter Derek. He's new in town - supporting his sister with her three little kids while his brother in law is in Afghanistan. Derek is not ready to date either!

But of course there's this über-mega insta attraction/lust between Perri and Derek. ☺

description

I really enjoyed reading this! It was so funny and sparky and lusty and sexy and adorable!

I love such small-town romances where everyone knows everyone!

It's so cute to watch Perri and Derek fight their real feelings! Why can't they just give in and talk about stuff and start dating for real. Ugh. Lol. I adored watching them getting it right!

Great romance!

What I didn't like? Sorry, tiny rant coming - not only about this book/author - so many authors do this! I hate it when authors don't mark a book as part of a series.

As soon as one person from one book appears in another book?!?!! I NEED to at least see a tiny little notation somewhere that says. CONNECTED STANDALONE! PART OF THE LUCKY FALLS WORLD! Or READ THIS - YOU'LL MEET PEOPLE FROM BEST LAID PLANS AGAIN! Is that so hard? I get it dear authors - you need to make money by selling books, and people don't like to buy a whole series if they don't have to. But this is just not nice! Most readers would totally be okay with a series when it just says CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE! It can't be too hard to add that to the bottom of a blurb? Make the book officially part of a series on goodreads and add something about how and what et cetera. That way others would be happy because they don't want to read the book that came out before and I would be happy because I then know that I have to read all the other books first, because I'm weirdly book OCD-ish when it comes to this. So what I'm saying is - I'm a tiny bit pissed because I didn't read Best Laid Plans yet.☺

But I really loved this story - it was a really sweet & sparky small-town romance!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 has got to be Lauren Blakely’s SEXIEST, most shiver-inducing romance to date! The sexual chemistry between Perri and Derek was incredibly explosive and I couldn’t get enough! My eyes stayed glued to the pages as Ms. Blakely, once again, transported me to my happy place and gave me one hell of an escape from reality. I adored Perri, this sassy, fiery, and flirty cop with absolutely no filter. She made for a FANTASTIC heroine. And then we have Derek…this gorgeous, cocky, and charming new-to-town paramedic who only has eyes for the woman in uniform, the woman who will evenutally bring him to his knees, in more ways than one. Together, these two set the pages ablaze with delicious dirty talk, sexy innuendos, and scorching HOT banter! Fans of Lauren Blakely will go CRAZY over her latest standalone romance!

Edited 4/2/19 - Audiobook Review

Overall 4.5 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 4 stars

Another fantastic audiobook narrated by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon! This duo is so hilarious together and their voices complement each other well. Joe Arden was perfect as cocky (but really a giant teddy bear inside) Derek. He is playful and sexy, but oh so sweet! Arden's narration of the final epilogue was so heartfelt and filled with so much emotion that I teared up. The audiobook also includes a bonus novella called Strong Suit. It features Ginny and Noah, who fans of Blakely may remember from The Birthday Suit. Mallon's Australian accent is so much fun and Arden's hyperactive performance as Noah had me laughing out loud! I loved the preview of Nobody Does It Better too, and can't wait for Vanessa and Shaw's story!

*****

The Feel Good Factor was a cute friends with benefits/roommates to lovers romcom. It had all the things I love about Lauren Blakely's books - a sexy and swoony hero, a strong and intelligent heroine, fantastic secondary characters, and a story that just makes my heart happy. I really loved the banter and push and pull between Perri and Derek. They have instalust right away, but the real chemistry occurred when they got to know each other beyond the physical. Derek was such a teddy bear with his nieces and nephew. I loved seeing that softer and gentler side to him. I did not blame Perri one bit for her ovaries exploding at the sight of Derek in full "dad mode". LOL

One of my favorite parts of the story was the friendship between Perri, Arden, and Vanessa. I loved how supportive, understanding, and loyal they were to each other. It's clear that these ladies would do anything and everything for their friends and I appreciated that Lauren Blakely took time to highlight this special relationship. It also helped to set up the next book/novella featuring Perri's brother, Shaw, and her BFF, Vanessa. I did find the story fairly predictable, but the conflict Perri and Derek faced at the end felt true to their characters and their experiences. Plus, it set the stage for an epic romcom style finale. The epilogues will have you grinning ear to ear and Lauren Blakely fans are sure to enjoy this newest addition!

5 Feel Good to the Moon and Back Stars
* * * * * Spoiler Free
There have been times in my life when I would meet someone and that click happened in an instant...You know exactly what I am talking about...That feeling of Oh...of Oh, Touching Him Would Be So Good...It is something which comes over you without warning. And if you are lucky, you get to follow up this feeling with more...

Well, Lauren Blakley took this idea and made it everything. She gave us the perfect set up, the unusual way of these two meeting and how she breaks all the rules of surprise. Yup, right from the start Blakely takes this tale to another level by having a very open, direct way of communication between everyone in this tale. No miscommunications causing long distrust, hurtful parts to lead up to the HEA...Instead, we have this cast of characters who are straightforward in how they deal with life. We have met the core group in past books, but are fine jumping in with this entry.

Perri is gunning to be the next police sergeant.
All her life, she has worked harder and more focused than others. It is just part of her DNA. She comes from a tight-knit family and loves them unconditionally. She has a brother who she has been in constant competition, whether it be in teasing, joking or bowling. He is a firefighter and loves his family just as hardcore back.

With this strong support system, Perri has been settled in her life. She has kept her girl posse close, leaning on them when needed and supporting them right back. So here Perri is, working towards a promotion and not looking for any romance in her life to distract her.

Derek is a guy who figured out his path. He loves being an EMT. He takes each day as it comes and works to make all of the calls he handles positive. He just moved to town to for a couple of reasons. His sister lives here and her husband was called to another tour of duty in Afganistan. With three little ones to handle on her own while also promoting her baking business, Derek decided to leave San Francisco and lend a hand. It also answered what he was going to do after finding his ex screwing the landlord of their place.

It was a no-brainer...Move, help Sis and take on new open EMT position. Derek is on his bike riding through the town and is pulled over for speeding. When he sees this vision in uniform, he has to take a breath. Perri is striking in her uniform. She has her professional face on even though the man before her hits all the bad boy checks she loves...

Sunburst Tattoos- Check
Rock Hard Body encased in Henely- Check
Scruff on Face and Gleaming Eyes- Check, Check...

As Perri asks all the standard procedural questions, Derek's flirty responses hit her hard. It is a bit of a struggle, but she holds her own. Derek explains he was trying to get to his sister's house in order to assist with the three kidlets. Perri lets him go with a warning and Derek thanks her with another flirty comment. Not disrespectful, more appreciative of who she was...

Over the next couple of days, both of these people share with their friends how interesting this "meeting" was... Perri shared with her girls and was teased how Bad Boys are her weakness and to watch out. Derek mentioned how cool the officer in town was hot and he was thinking about her. Perri even got called out at the family dinner with Shaw how she thought this new guy on the bike had caught her eye and they were doing the kissing contest which benefited the First Responders.

So when Shaw lets Perri know he found a tenant for her garage apartment, Perri is thrilled...until she answers her door with a scrubbed-clean face, tank top, and pj bottoms looking at a surprised Derek in the face. It seems Shaw forgot to share who had the garage apartment he leased.

This is a set up which has all the elements to be a winner...and it so was. Both of these people were strong, smart and had a way with words. Derek's ability to turn anything into a sexy, naughty, dirty innuendo was delicious. Perri's immediate responses holding Derek's need to respond back was perfect. They had both decided no attachment because that was their gameplan at the time.

Of course, when lips lock...things can happen...And may I just say...this Ode to Kissing was Delightful. I have been a longtime believer in the power of kissing and when done right... it is an art form.

Now there is more to this story, a little extra about focusing on what is important, how life can be changed in a moment, and to take things in stride...how things will come to you when the timing is right. This was an easy, breezy read with all the hot passion you could want.

What is also delightful is the tease of what will be coming soon in Nobody Does it Better. Look to see how Shaw and Vanessa finally address this forbidden mutual attraction which has been brewing for YEARS! Lauren Blakley, I will be counting the days...

It’s hard to describe how engaging Lauren Blakely’s “The Feel Good Factor” is from the get-go – a contemporary romance that perfectly balances fun and flirty with sweet and swoony. The story is as frothy as it sounds, centering on sassy Perri Keating and mildly cocky Derek McBride, whose chemistry is off the charts from the moment they lay eyes on each other even though their romance is doomed because neither is interested in a relationship.

She’s a small-town police woman determined to get a promotion in a male dominated world. He, meanwhile, is a paramedic simply trying to help out his sister with her kids and adjusting to his new job and life. She needs to rent a room and a partner at a fundraising kissing contest, he fits the bill for both. A fling is inevitable and so in the expiration date they’ve set. But as they get to know each other they also learn that their connection runs too deep to be ignored.

Derek and Perri are both charismatic characters whose sexual tension is heightened by their equally quick, sharp and witty tongues. They also fell very real, generous individual who surge off the page with irresistible vitality. I fell in love with both instantly. Perri is funny, sarcastic and sassy with a big heart. While Derek is deliciously sexy and dirty, thoughtful and generous, absolutely swoon worthy.

I smiled, laughed and fanned myself while falling hard for this couple it’s almost impossible to do anything but enjoy every single word and cheer this couple on. The supporting characters are warm and delightful that add another layer to like about this book, and I highlighted a bunch of share worthy quotes, especially from the extra sweet epilogues. Plainly, The Feel Good Factor feels good!

The Feel Good Factor is a standalone, contemporary romance by Lauren Blakely. It is told by both points of view with a happy ending.

The Feel Good Factor by Lauren Blakely
Narrated by Erin Mallon and Joe Arden
Standalone but Related to Best Laid Plans
The Feel Good Factor just proves that Lauren Blakely doesn’t need the fancy full cast of narrators or duet narration to make an amazing audiobook. But we knew that already, it was just a good reminder after some of the amazing narrations she’s given us recently. Don’t get me wrong, Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are two of my favorites and the narration was great, but it was normal narration that switched with the POV.

It was the super sexy and fun story that really stood out in the Feel Good Factor, a perfect title for both the story and the feelings it evokes in the reader.

"Holy redheaded lady cop fantasy"

We met Perri in Best Laid Plans, but Feel Good Factor easily stands alone. She is a police officer in the small wine-country town of Lucky Falls, and she loves her job but is hoping for a promotion. When she pulls over a hot looking bad boy on a motorcycle for speeding, he can’t help but flirt with the beautiful cop.
“Tell me your name. I’m dying to know.”
“Why do you need it so badly?”
“So I know what name to say when I’m fantasizing.”

Derek is a new paramedic in town. He moved to Lucky Falls after a bad breakup and to help his sister and her three kids while her husband is deployed. Neither Perri or Derek are looking for a relationship, but when Perri needs to enter a kissing contest to earn brownie points, Derek steps in to save the day.

Let me tell you, this is definitely one of Lauren’s HOTTEST books to date, yet it also totally brings the sweet and the humor with some small-town charm. It amazes me how Lauren continues to churn out books that wow me every single time.
“Let’s get one thing straight. What is this? It’s not attraction. It’s stronger. More Intense. It’s red-hot desire. It’s raw and it’s carnal, and it’s so much dirtier than attraction.”

Likes:

•I love Lauren’s epilogues! Especially the double ones.
•Sexier than most of her recent releases.
•Hot dirty-talking hero.
•He’s amazing with his nieces and nephews (was that just my ovaries exploding?)
•It manages to be sweet, sexy and funny at the same time.
•It ties in with Best Laid Plans but it is not necessary to read it first (though you don’t want to miss it!)
•The audiobook bonus of Strong Suit. It’s just a little tease, but I sure enjoyed it.
•Every one of her characters are likable and there is never an overabundance of angst.

Dislikes:

•Once again, I can’t find a thing to dislike.

The Narration:
Joe and Erin are both top 5 narrators for me and they were perfect for Derek and Perri. And sigh….when Joe does little kid voices it just makes me swoon.
“This man is going to ruin me in the best possible way. Oh my.”

The Down & Dirty:
HOLY HOTNESS, The Feel Good Factor is one of Lauren’s hottest books to date and that’s saying a lot! It amazes me that Lauren can take common romance tropes and make them her own brand of funny, unique, and sexy deliciousness. She releases about 10 books a year, if not more, and every single one of them is amazing. Lauren is one of only 4-5 authors I drop everything to read, and she proves why and reinforces that with every book she releases. Do not miss The Feel Good Factor, I promise, you will feel good while reading it, you can’t help it.

Rating: 4.5 Stars, 5 Heat, 5 Narration

Sweet lord in heaven above, Derek has just sky-rocketed to the top of my Lauren Blakely bbf list. Yep, he's surpassed Colin and Clay and Chase and Cooper. And his name doesn't even start with a C!
Derek is so deliciously dirty, I thought I might spontaneously combust more than a time or 2. But, gah, he's so freaking sweet, too. Ms. Blakely has really created the perfect man, there wasn't one thing I could fault him for. Seriously, he reminds me of the chocolate man my coworker gave me for Valentine's Day last year- The Perfect Man. "He's sweet and decadently rich. Just like a man ought to be!"

Perri is terrific herself. I love her spunk and attitude- she gave as good as she got with Derek, in ALL things! It was awesome to read a character like Perri, I kind of want to be her.

The Feel Good Factor was so good and fun and sooo sexy, everything you'd want, and everything you'd expect, in a contemporary romance from the queen that is Lauren Blakely. The fun and witty banter, the blazing hot chemistry, the families and friendships. This is one book that will definitely leave you feeling good! And maybe, most probably, needing cold shower.

***COMING SOON - FULL REVIEW***

4 Passionate Kissing CROWNS

The Feel Good Factor has all the hallmarks of a Lauren Blakely romcom. Scorching bedroom moments, fun dialogue, and heartfelt moments.

Derek has all the makings of a hero to love: hot, tattoos, paramedic, hot uncle, hot as heck in the bedroom. I mean there really isn’t anything not to love about this man.

Perri is a female in a male dominated field, and she is succeeding. She has sass and wit, and again there really isn’t anything to dislike about her.

And while there isn’t anything to dislike about them as a couple or individuals, there is something that just never clicked for me. When they are in the bedroom, it is electric. I mean, probably some of the best scenes from Lauren Blakely, but the chemistry didn’t translate outside of the bedroom for me. It didn’t completely fizzle out, but simmered on low heat.

While the plot is relatively predictable, the pacing is well done. She balances moments as a couple, with his family and her friends, and in the bedroom well. The conflict fits with who they are and the ending was adorable in all its romcom glory.

If you love Lauren Blakely books, you are going to love this one. And while it didn’t blow me away, I still enjoyed the journey they took, the moments of laughter and fun.

4,5 Practice Kisses Stars

This was one sweet, and super hot roommates to lovers story. I loved the easy friendship Perri and Derek created. Before the fireworks of their relationship they were just so cool, and sweet together. The chemistry between those two was just sizzling. I adored Derek - he was the perfect combination of good looking, tattooed bad boy with a golden heart, that can easily melt your undergarments. I also loved Perri, she was amazing, badass and just relatable.

Another amazing read from Lauren Blakely, but I didn't expect anything less. This one truly made my day with the funny, low angst/no angst plot, and just amazing characters. And hot, the dirty talk in this book was pure perfection!

The Feel Good Factor is my kind of book...sexy and HOT!!!! The chemistry between the two main characters, Derek and Perri, was undeniable. Every part of their story fit together so perfectly, from their meeting, to the hot sex, to the end of their story, it flowed effortlessly! I enjoyed every moment of Derek and Perri’s story, along with all of the supporting characters since Ms. Blakely makes you invested in their stories as well!

The Feel Good Factor definitely had ALL of the good feelings ;) I highly recommend this book!

🎧 Audio Review 🎧
The name of this book describes exactly how Lauren Blakely books make me feel, as always I am left smiling with a happy heart. I describe her books as "Feel Good" books.

In this book we are back in Lucky Falls with Arden's friend Perri. I love when you start a book and feel like you already know every one! Perri and Derek have mad chemistry from the very first time they meet. I loved that they are 100% each other's types and both have something the other needs. Perri is a Cop with goals and I thought she was going to protest too much since she was very concerned about her job but thankfully she is a tough women who can handle anything that comes her way. I think what I loved most about her is that when she is upset, she lets herself feel it then puts on her big girl panties and does the right thing. Derek IS my ultimate book boyfriend type! He looks like a hot & tatted bad boy but really he is a huge softy for kids, his family and spends his life helping others! I mean he's an EMT! How could you want more!
Together these two tow the line a little but it doesn't last long, why deny yourself something you want and deserve in your life. The ending was sweet and melted my heart a little.

Lauren Blakey is the queen of quirky characters but in this book I didn't find either of them to be quirky at all, they were very relate-able for me. I enjoyed that change very much. This one felt like it was more about the connection, chemistry and happiness which is exactly what I loved about it.

The narration of course was PERFECT! But I expect nothing less from LB or these narrators. Erin Mallon is ALWAYS a big win for me and let me tell you, listening to her do animal sounds in this one had me cracking up! Joe Arden is also great, he really is good at bossy "in the bedroom" men and in this book he nailed it!

At the end of this Audiobook, we get a BONUS with the STRONG Suit! This is a novella about Ginny and Noah from Birthday Suit! YES....The book with Erin Mallon and the Australian accent and Joe Arden as Noah the very high strong guy who is totally into Ginny (and maybe addicted to 5 hour Energy drinks LOL). This was so much fun! I loved these characters in Birthday Suit so much so I was beyond excited when LB gave us a sneak peak into their story. It was everything I wanted it to be except long enough ;)

4.5 hot and flirty stars!

Lauren Blakely can always be counted on for hot, flirty, drama free romance, and this book is exactly that! Flirtatious and steamy with fantastic chemistry, Derek and Perri’s story is sizzling with sexual tension, and loved it!

This is the second book in the Lucky in Love series. It can be read as a standalone, but be aware that there is some character crossover as the three girls in this series are best friends and all up in each other’s lives.

Perri is a police officer in her home town of Lucky Falls and living a life that she loves. She is on traffic duty when she pulls over a gorgeous bad boy on a motorcycle, sparking a wicked flirtation. But she is completely focussed on getting a promotion at work, with no time for outside distractions, so she does her best to forget all about the tattooed hottie.

Derek is new to Lucky Falls. He’s moved to town to help out his sister and her kids and has taken a job as a paramedic, and while he has no interest in relationships, he’s keen for a fling with the red-haired goddess who pulled him over and who has completely invaded his thoughts.

The flirtation between these two is just epic. They own what they’re feeling and what they want and the sexual chemistry is insane as they build toward the inevitable. But when Derek shows up as the tenant for the apartment that Perri has to rent above her house, they figure that it’s best to ignore everything that is brewing between them in order to avoid complications. It works… for a little while, but mostly it just ramps up the intensity between them and OMG, I felt it all!

“Let’s get one thing straight,” he growls. “What this is? It’s not attraction. It’s stronger. More intense. It’s red-hot fucking desire. It’s raw and it’s carnal, and it’s so much dirtier than attraction.”

I love the relationship between these two. They are open with each other, they don’t hide what they’re feeling, and the flirting, innuendo and dirty talk is fantastic! And the sexual tension builds and builds until it reaches explosive point, and then it’s all on!

“The games are over. No more resistance—no more toying. We give in to this.” I gesture from her to me. “We give in to what’s been happening from the second you pulled me over. I haven’t once stopped wanting you. I want you more every day. You’re under my skin and in my head, and right now, I need to fuck you. And you need to fuck me.”
Her breath hitches. “Is that what I need?”
“Only you know. But you sure look like you want to get on my cock and ride me.”

These two are hot, hot, hot together! Not only do they have a genuinely good time together, but thehe steamy time is sizzling as they give in to their wild desires, adding to what was already building between them and we can see things begin to shift. What they have found is unstoppable, but neither of them are prepared for feels, and neither of them feel ready for a relationship. They’ve got some soul-searching to do and hurdles to climb as they figure it all out.

This is such a great read. It’s fun and sexy, and you cannot help but love these characters. Perri is strong and sweet. She knows what she wants, and she works hard for it, and I loved how confident she is! And Derek…. Damn. He looks like a bad boy with the tattoos, beard and motorcycle, but he’s a total sweetheart, and seeing him with his baby niece and snuggling with Perri just melted my heart. But he also has a wildly dirty side with a filthy mouth that had me fanning myself. He’s romance hero gold, and I was smitten from first glance.

Perri’s girlfriends, Arden and Vanessa, appear in the book, and I loved seeing this trio together. I love their bond, and I love the inclusion of boys into the group now. The flirtation between Vanessa and Perri’s brother, Shaw, is ramping up and I’m really excited for their book up next.

I loved this one! A fun, flirty, sexy and easy read with a lot of heart and an epilogue which will just melt you!

A fantastic read. 4.5 stars.

Do you know what I love about Lauren Blakely’s books? Even though they’re standalones, they’re typically connected to each other in some way. When minor characters are important to the hero or heroine, you know they’re more than likely to appear in their own story...or at least you (i.e. me) hope they will. That’s why, when I read Best Laid Plans and came to know Arden’s two best friends, I was eager to see who one or both would be paired up with. Thankfully, Lauren Blakely didn’t prolong the suspense, introducing not just two new heroines but two new heroes as well! And when a certain cop pulled over a speeding motorcyclist? Sparks flew, my smile stretched across my face, and my mind whirled with the potential romance.

When I started The Feel Good Factor, it took approximately 0.5 seconds before I fell in love with Derek McBride. He’s tatted up, rides a motorcycle, and is a wicked flirt to boot. Need I say more? He looks the part of the quintessential bad boy, which is what captures the attention of sassy, quick-witted police officer, Perri Keating. From their very first meeting, you could feel their attraction to each other emanating from the pages. The sexual tension between them is a palpable force, and their chemistry is almost indecent to the point where it feels like, at any moment, they’re in danger of ripping each other’s clothes off. Which makes things pretty interesting when Perri finds out Derek is her new roommate. *rubs hands together* Despite their mutual decision to keep their relationship PG-13 (there is, after all, a kissing contest to practice for), they tease and taunt each other relentlessly, each pushing the other’s restraint past the breaking point.

Having read all of Lauren Blakely’s books, I can confidently say that The Feel Good Factor is the author’s sexiest, most passionate, most unapologetically sensual romance to date. Not only is the heat level off the charts thanks to Derek and Perri’s raw, primal physical connection, but the combination of uncontrollable lust and unrestrained need between them makes every kiss an unforgettable, shamelessly erotic experience. And that’s just their kisses… Throw in some expert-level dirty talk from Derek, and I don’t think I’ve ever blushed so hard or had my jaw drop with such regularity while reading a Lauren Blakely book!

With a fun, lighthearted storyline packed with flirty, clever banter, characters that are charming and multidimensional with magnetic personalities, and a romance that’s the perfect combination of heart-meltingly sweet and scorching hot, The Feel Good Factor is my new favorite book by Lauren Blakely. This is a must-read, beautifully wrapping up Derek and Perri’s story, while enticing readers with Shaw and Vanessa’s forbidden flirtation. I can’t wait to get my hands on Nobody Does It Better, and luckily we don’t have long to wait.

Lauren Blakely is one of those authors that guarantees to deliver something to make you feel good #punintended.

I love reading heroines that are unashamed in their sexuality and aren't afraid to be sexy and dirty and please their partner. Perri fits that to a T. She's also smart, huge-hearted, and wildly ambitious. I also love that she's a redhead to match her feisty personality hehehe.

And Derek is a dream. Tall, handsome, the scruff *ahem*, and the ink. Who could forget the 12 pack? But on top of the physical, he's got a heart of gold and can match Perri flirt for flirt. They are a match made from the very beginning.

I can't say I've read the roommates to lovers trope, and the way this one was set up, it worked perfectly! And it is super sexy and fireworks-fun!

5 stars and definitely recommended!

The Feel Good Factor was everything that I have come to love in a Lauren Blakely book - light, funny, sexy, swoon-worthy and an absolute delight to read. Although the two leads did leave me frustrated and wanting to throw my kindle at times. They were both so stubborn and trying their best to fight something that was ultimately inevitable in the end.

This book takes us back to Lucky Falls and follows the story of Derek and Perri. Derek McBride is scruffy, covered in tats, rides a motorcycle and looks the part of your typical bad boy. This is what captures the attention of the feisty, sassy and witty local cop, Perri Keating. The chemistry between these two is scorching hot and you can just feel the heat radiating off of the pages. But neither has any desire to be in a relationship as they have both been burned by love in the past. They are strictly to be friends and housemates or at least that's the plan. The sexual tension between them is so palpable and despite their best efforts, feelings soon develop and all of the rules go right out the window.

The Feel Good Factor is an amazing read that is very well written. I absolutely loved Derek and Perri together. I truly believe the readers will fall head over heels for them just as I did. Lauren Blakely is an author that I have truly grown to love. Everything she writes is like pure gold to me and this one is no different. 5 Fantastic Feel Good Stars!

This book lives up to its title. I felt very very good reading it and with its conclusion. I had all the feels - laughing, smirking, sad and elated. It was the full package. I even had some angst over their deadline looming and calling it quits to the practicing for the Kissing Contest. We all know who was going to win! 🔥 🥵 🔥

I was so ready to read more about this couple from their encounter in Best Laid Plans. Everything about the description of Derek was intriguing, especially his dirty mouth! There are so many parts to this book that I was happy with. Derek and Perri are hard working, smart people with demanding jobs that make them both respected in their community. The authenticity of how they first met, ended up as roomies, then their relationship was credible and convincing. I felt like I was one of their gang hanging out and bonding with them. That’s when you know you have completely fallen into a book and I didn’t want to leave. I can NOT wait for Vanessa and Shaw’s story. The tension already has me humming.

I really enjoyed these characters from their meet cute to the epilogue this book has it all.

First the fact that Perri is a female cop is just freaking awesome. I love that she was so herself. Her relationship with her co-workers is awesome and with her family and friends. I like that she talks in her head to herself then edit what she is really thinking.

Derek is just a good guy, he loves his family and is willing to do whatever it takes to show them. I love this about him. I also love that he is a go with the flow kind of guy he not only helps his community but he is the guy you call when you need something.

These two together ohh lala the sparks a fly.

Great freaking narration by the way I loved it.

Instant attraction that leads to delayed gratification, but is well worth the trip to get there! Great romance with enough steam to get you intrigued and excited! What do you get when you cross a cop and a paramedic? You'll have to read to find out or listen as I did, the audiobook is fantastic!

4 Derek and Perri Stars

Funny, sexy and at times quite poignant story about when the town's female cop , Perri , meets her new housemate Derek who is the newest , most tattooed and all round nice guy paramedic. He has come out of a bad relationship. She is career driven. Sparks fly , clothes fly and there is a lot of kissing - partly due to a forthcoming Town Kissing Competition that these two housemates are applying for .....well, practice makes perfect, right?

Great secondary characters.

Cheating? No

I officially ran out of praises for Lauren. Nope. None. Zero. I can't come up with anything new to tell you how amazing her books are!

Just look at that, holy covergasm. And once you open it, holy bookgasm.
This book had everything. Strong, sassy heroine, stronger, cocky hero. OFF THE CHARTS chemistry. Funny banter, no filter dialogues, amazing side characters and what a story... I'm always amazed at the author's eye for detail. It's one of those feel good stories - see what I did there? - that warms your heart and stays with you long after finishing it.

Perfect read, thank you, Lauren! I'm right off to Best Laid Plans and I have no shame.

I am still coming down from the high of reading this book. Oh My Lord the heat between Derek and Perri will cause not only your Kindle to smoke but your body will experience some exhilarating moments where you will either need a cold shower or ..... well you will see what I'm talking about when you read this hot book.

This book is about Perri, the cop friend of Arden from Best Laid Plans. Perri is focused on her career and definitely doesn't have time for a relationship. When her boss recommends she enter a kissing contest for charity because he and several others in the community are doing the same, she decides that's what she needs to do to help get the promotion she is after. Now to find a partner for said kissing. Meet Derek, hot as sin EMT with tattoos and a motorcycle and muscles that every woman just wants to run their finger over. Perri and Derek's fateful meeting puts them in the right place at the right time and let the heated kissing begin.

Lauren Blakely is a word genius and each book she writes I think to myself, "she can't get any better than this", but then she proves me wrong and outdoes herself. I am a Lauren Blakely junky. I must read her books, I devour them each and every one but let me say this is my favorite. I am a huge fan of back and forth banter and a build up between characters and this one is the champion of that. The heat between these two will melt you and when you get to know Derek you will fall in love with him. He is my new book boyfriend and it will be challenging to find another to be better. Besides the extreme heat in this book there are so many other "feels" there. This is a great story of friends that love each other and help each other through tough times. It is about a families love and what you do when your family needs you. It's about letting down your guarded heart and letting someone in, completely, even when you risk losing it all. I also loved that it shows their struggles with their day to day jobs and how we all have lives to live as well as love to cherish and some days are just tougher than others but we get through them.

This book is far better than 5 stars. I am still buzzing from all the "feel goods" it gave me. I received an early copy to read and review. I HIGHLY recommend this book. I can't wait to get the audio version as well because, holy hotness I know it will be fantastic.

* 5 sexy-as-sin stars *

Oh. My. Word. This book is like one continuous ovary explosion! If you love sexy bad boys with a soft side and strong, uninhibited females then The Feel Good Factor is most definitely for you. Lauren Blakely's newest offering is sweet, epically sexy, and funny. This standalone, feel-good story (natch) is probably one of her hottest to date and definitely one of my new favorite stories!

Let's start with Perri who we met in Ms. Blakely's Best Laid Plans. She's a badass police officer who is most definitely my soul sister. She's unafraid to speak her mind and that mind is as dirty as it comes! She's a loyal friend, driven to succeed and is beloved in her small town of Lucky Falls. She has no desire to be in a relationship, but what she does crave is smokin' hot, knock-your-socks-off sex with bad boys. Enter Derek who fits the bill perfectly. He rolls into town on his motorcycle, all dark, handsome and tatted up and Perri basically melts. But Derek isn't all sex and sin. Oh no, no, no. Blakely gave this man a soft, gooey center that pretty much fried my brain. The way he is with his nieces and nephew? No, seriously....I'm dead!!!! I'm talking the total and complete package. It's no wonder he's the feel-good factor!!! Perri and Derek have intense chemistry from the start. Their filthy minds and dirty mouths make them the ultimate match made in heaven. And they even made *me* blush which is not easy to do! I loved the ease of their relationship. It's just that perfect! Blakely always gives us memorable, real characters that we readers can identify with and Perri and Derek are no exception.

There was so much about this story that I loved. The secondary characters, who we've already met in Best Laid Plans (if you've read it previously) are all stellar. Small towns always breed interesting characters and Lucky Falls has a ton of fun ones. I loved the adorable plot that brought Perri and Derek together. It's fun, sweet and it'll have you laughing out loud. I loved the heat that was perfectly written. I felt the electricity between our main characters jumping right off the page. Let's just say I was rooting for these characters the moment that they met. The connection was instantaneous. I also loved that Blakely gave previews of what's to come for Shaw and Vanessa in their upcoming story Nobody Does It Better. She piqued my interest and I can't wait to see what's in store for them. In a nutshell, The Feel Good Factor is a 5-star story you most definitely should NOT miss.

Loved this fun story.
Perri is the dedicated sexy cop in town who has her eye on promotion and Derek is new in town, he’s working as a paramedic, and also helping his sister who has 3 kids.
Now when they accidentally happen to meet they clicked right away, you could say they had instant chemistry, it glowed from them every time they met, and their new found relationship only got better and more sexy as their story unfolded.
I loved how this story progressed. Perri and Derek were wonderful characters and the fun and giggles were none stop in this one. A great read!
