Publisher's summary

A sexy stand-alone romance written by number one New York Times best-selling author Lauren Blakely and award-winning romance narrator Joe Arden!

Every man knows there are lines you don't cross. Like this one - don't bang your boss' little sister.

Too bad I didn't know sexy, clever, irresistible London is related to the guy who signs my paychecks. Would have been helpful to have that intel before I took her out on that first date, before I kissed her on the beach, before I made plans to take her home that night.

But now I know, and I'm going to be so damn disciplined. I'm a good guy, after all. And good guys don't break the golden rules of the bro code. I'm going to follow the heck out of all the rules. I won't break a single damn one.

Even when London asks me to help her with a work project. One that has us working late every night, all alone, in my tiny apartment.

One that tests every ounce of willpower I have. One that is driving me out of my ever loving mind. But I resist.

Until the night she issues a challenge I can't refuse.

The audiobook includes cameo appearances from Erin Mallon, Emma Wilder, and Maxine Mitchell!

This books gets all the stars!!!!!!!

First of all... I am so proud of Joe and this book. It’s not even my place but I think most of us would agree (after you listen) that the pride for this book can be heard throughout. I’m a newer fan and only through this pandemic have I been lured from the dark side of mystery and thrillers to the Romantic side of audible. Let’s be honest who needs more of a thriller than reality we are all living right now.
This book, his voice, the ladies in this book (epic selection) is one beautifully wrapped romantic and real package. I loved every minute. So much so, I’m going back to listen all over again. Lauren and Joe; thank you!

Author as Narrator For the Win!

-Plot- The progression of Teddy and London’s relationship is beautiful to witness. Their natural connection is evident from their first conversation and there was never a doubt in my mind that they were meant to be together. The inclusion of their playful pets is adorable and vivid secondary characters bring in friendly banter and show genuine support to the couple. The music references had me loading up Spotify to revisit songs I know and seek out the ones I didn’t. The events flowed smoothly throughout the story. As an expectant reader, I experienced little anxiety. At the conclusion, I was completely satisfied and would gladly listen again.

-Narration- Joe shines with confidence and conviction in this title; his title. Joe’s intimate relationship with Teddy as the author is undeniable. His performance is heartfelt and passionate. As he does with all female characters, Joe takes care to incorporate London’s personality into his tone. Representing London and her friends in group texts, Erin, Emma, and Maxine bring hearty laughs and showcase the gift of true friendship. Be sure to stick around for their hilarious outtakes.

-Style- Lauren and Joe are decorated experts in the romance genre and it shows! They deliver every element of satisfying romance tales with purpose and originality. The story is a truly seamless collaboration. There were no moments that felt like Joe or Lauren wrote them individually. I’m looking forward to Joe’s next novel, co-written or solo. There needs to be a “next.”

-Memorable One-liner- "I might come as I am."

Teddy & London

After being introduced to Joe Arden’s narrations from Lauren Blakely, picking up their co-written book via audio was credit worthy for sure. I really enjoyed Teddy and London’s story. Joe Arden did an amazing job narrating their story and I loved that he narrated both Teddy and London. Their story was told from the male point of view, which I absolutely loved in this type of romance. It was a new take and I’d definitely be back for more of that! If you’re familiar with Joe Arden’s work, you know his narrations are top notch and how much he can draw you into a story. If you’re new, you’re in for a treat for sure. I loved how Teddy and London met, and their deep conversations and witty banter they had with each other. The sexual tension that built between them was palpable and their sexy times were HOT. I enjoyed London’s text conversations with her besties, performed by some fantastic female narrators, that felt so relatable! I appreciated both Teddy and London’s strong reasons ethics to try keep their relationship strictly friends, but found myself rooting for them to cave! I enjoyed how their story unfolded and the wonderful HEA that Joe and Lauren gave them! I hope this isn’t the last co-write we get treated to!

There’s something to be said about a book...

- when one of the most “noteworthy” male audiobook voice actor/narrators is a CO-AUTHOR! I mean... Come on!!
—Any romance book audiophile KNOWS Joe Arden delivers! And he’s narrated some VERY sexy books in his time and is good at his job because he knows what works and what doesn’t. It only makes all the sense in the world to move up in the career of your niché! Play to your strengths! And in collaboration with Lauren Blakey, it was a slam dunk!

- when the author gets you to equally laugh and swoon in less than two minutes.

- BUT... MY FAVORITE.... is when a book gives you music references that are unfamiliar... and you’re so invested in the plot that you HAVE to pause the story for a few minutes to hear the song to understand the context... and then appreciate the reference a bit too much, because it’s REALLY good music and gives all the feels....and... le sigh! Then add it to a playlist or 50 before returning to the book.

A bit dramatic of a review, I’m sure... but not “Pride and Prejudice” kind of dramatic. 😜

Audio greatness

What happens when your favorite romance narrator co-writes and narrates a book? Audio greatness. I've been a fan of Joe Arden's narration for a while because he gives truly great performances and really gives us all the emotions the characters are going through. In this book that he co-wrote I feel like his performance was just extra fabulous. He knew even more about the characters to really give them depth and emotion. The chapters of text conversations between the ladies were amazing.

The readers are the lucky ones with this book!

When I first heard that Joe was teaming up with LB I was intrigued... how was this going to pan out? They’re such a great team as author and narrator so I expected the same when they co-wrote. Well... it is so much more than we could have hoped for. I loved how you could sense the pride in Joe’s narration.

This story is a male POV with snippets of texts from London (the female lead). It was great to get inside Teddy’s head and understand how he ticks. The supporting characters were great. I loved Sam’s chill vibe. What I always love about Joe’s narration is that he puts so much emotion into each character. This is a new favorite for me!

So fun!!

This audiobook was a wonderful and fun way to start the new year! I love that the book is written from Teddy's perspective, but we get London's POV (Erin Mallon) via her interactions with her friends (Emma Wilder and Maxine Mitchell). This book is a master class in open and honest communication with no game-playing. The storyline develops a romantic relationship that is not co-dependent, but rather, focuses on two strong characters building a lasting and real love with mutual care, sacrifice, and support. I have long been a fan of Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden and this combination was a delight. The narration was impeccable as always from these rockstars of audio. Five stars and congratulations, Joe, on a wonderful debut as an author! Keep them coming!

Sublime

I needed this book. All of it. Every steamy, silly, teasing, dirty talking, BFF texting moment of it. With that sultry, satiny-smooth, panty dropping narration that sends endorphins pinging all over the place. The only thing better than Joe Arden narrating a great romance is Joe Arden narrating his own fabulously crated romance. Holy aural fixation. I'm either in love, or his newest stalker.

For years Joe Arden has been some of the best stuff to happen to romance audiobooks. In fact, author Lauren Blakley uses him quite often for her amazing rom-coms. They're a powerhouse team. But now Joe has decided to go beyond the microphone and take up the keyboard to add his own words to the world of romantic comedy with the help of Ms Blakley. I can only say, "yes, please, may I have another?"
