I need a fake date. She needs my late-night expertise. Now, if we can just keep our hands off each other...

As the premier best-man-for hire in all of Manhattan, I promise discretion, so when I need a plus one for a couple of “I dos,” I turn to my gorgeous, clever, witty best friend’s sister. She's my good friend, too, and I lust after her completely. I mean, I TRUST her completely.

After all, just look how she's kept her lips sealed about the hot, multi-O night we spent together. Yes, just look at those sexy lips.

In any case, we only fell off the wagon once, and it was months ago. I’m sure we can make it through these weddings without banging each other in the limo.

Or can we?

Can we just say that Lauren Blakely is Queen of the Rom-Com.
The question is what do you do when your best friends sister is someone you want to be more than friends with but you don’t want to disrespect the bro-code. That is the dilemma that Jason Reynolds seems to have. A man known around as The Modern Gentleman Of New York, Best Man for Hire and a Fantastic Friend & Brother but what he wants to add to that is making Truly Goodman more than a friend.
Truly Goodman is a successful business woman and Fantastic twin to her brother Malone, a Incredible Friend but what she wants is to put her brother’s best friend in more than the friend zone.
You will watch the two of them go round and round on how to make it work and you will see their friends encourage them being together but what they have to figure out is how to do that and make everyone happy. With every page I turned I couldn’t help smile a little brighter watching this fantastic couple see what everyone else was seeing but what you want them to find is that HEA.

RomCom perfection from the incredible Lauren Blakely! This is a sweet, flirty, charming, sexy and funny friends to lovers story that also has the best friend’s little sister dilemma thrown in for good measure. Jason, the sexy Brit is so swoonworthy, charming and funny. He is also Malone’s best friend. Truly is a sweet, funny, smart businesswoman who owns her own bar, and also happens to be Malone’s sister. Truly and Jason are very good friends and run in the same circles but they have kept themselves firmly in the friend zone, except for that one time. One time it seems rocked their worlds so much that neither has been able to forget. This story is so much fun and amazing, the dialogue incredibly witty, and the sexy times are steamy. Jason and Truly are made for each other!! What more could you ask for? I absolutely loved everything about this book!!!

This book left me gratified! 5 stars

I love Lauren Blakely rom-coms, and this book gave me such gratification! I laughed, I smiled, I swooned, so it had everything I love in a rom-com! Jason and Truly were magic together, even when they were stubborn and I wanted to slap them upside the head! I love that Truly was a strong woman with her own business and had strong relationships with her brother and friends. Jason really was the modern gentleman but a sexy beast in the bedroom. Like I said, they were magic together. I definitely recommend this book if you like a fun, quick, sexy read that will leave you gratified!

I received a copy of this ebook from Candi Kane PR for my honest review.

I am so loving this series and cast of characters!

Instant Gratification is Jason and Truly's story.  We met them briefly in Satisfaction Guaranteed. Now don't get discouraged if you haven't read it.  This story can totally be read as a stand alone.

Jason is the Modern Gentleman, in every word and deed.  He makes it his mission and his career to be the ultimate wingman, gentleman and overall British hotness! He has been friends with Truly since forever.  He has some scars from his past that tend to still direct him in his future.  But when you read the chemistry between him and Truly, well heck all bets are off!

Truly is an amazing character!! Yes she is a bit of a workaholic, but she still makes time for her friends and family.  She is a total woman-power extraordinaire and she rocks!  I love her take charge attitude.  She too has some past scars that direct her.  But yet again the chemistry between her and Jason...wowza!

I loved the slow burn aspect.  I loved how Jason and Truly's friendship worked and how it became more.  I loved seeing past characters make cameo appearances. The don't take away from the main story, but give you a bit more!

You just can't go wrong with a Lauren Blakely story!  I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next!!

Instant Gratification was one of my most anticipated books this year and wow, did it ever deliver! Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and nobody writes it better than Lauren Blakely. These characters popped right off the page and the book was full of such heart and humor-and a healthy dose of heat-that I was drawn in from the start and didn't want it to end. I would give this more than five stars if I could.

Having read Satisfaction Guaranteed, I was definitely looking forward to getting to know more about Jason and Truly. That being said, Instant Gratification IS a standalone. I'm just a Lauren Blakely junkie-and it's writing like this that keeps me coming back for more.

Truly and Jason were just so fun. There's this intense undercurrent between them that they both KNOW is there but agree not to act on. The banter and flirting between them just felt so completely natural. I believed in their relationship and loved watching it evolve. They definitely had some sexy times in the bedroom as well, I definitely fanned myself more than once reading these two!

This plot is so unique and fresh. I was fascinated by Jason's line of work and LOVED getting to meet all these new couples. They were just a hoot. The story moved along perfectly and the writing? I can't rave about the writing enough. This story is has so many moving parts but is so well crafted that it just flowed. I did not want it to end.

I have to admit that I squealed a lot while reading this book. Why, you ask? Because there are glimpses into characters from previous Lauren Blakely books that I just loved. If I could jump into the book world and hang out with characters you can bet I'd pick this book so I could be with this crew.

Now, I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced audio copy of this book as well as an e-ARC. I cannot scream from the rooftops enough as to how amazing this audiobook is. This is a multicast affair and wow, these narrators just NAIL this performance. Listening to this book is like listening to a play. The performers here, led by Shane East and Andi Arndt, just knock it out of the park. If you've never listened to an audiobook before I absolutely encourage you to try this! If you already love audiobooks...get ready for them to be taken to a whole new level with this one. This is definitely one I will listen to over and over.

This book is one of my favorites. Instant Gratification is the perfect mix of humor, sexiness and sweetness. I couldn't keep the smile from my face and I know I'll go back and read (and listen to!) this again and again. I'd give this more than five stars if I could. I loved and absolutely highly recommend this book.

OMG!! I swooned and squirmed for most of this audiobook. I've been waiting for Jason and Truly for a while, and it was amazing! I swear Jason has the dirtiest mouth--good thing--or it could be I love everything Shane East narrates. I think Lauren added a bit more heat on his tongue. And Truly was no slouch with her own dirty talking skills. Watching these two figure out how they felt about each other, when everyone else already knew, was like watching an orchid bloom.

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and Lauren is one of the best at giving the trope fresh takes, and it doesn't feel redone, or something you get sick of. Her flawed heroes are some of the hottest I've read, and I absolutely love her strong and vulnerable heroines. Seriously awesome girl power! This is a full cast of greatness, and I felt like I was right there as their characters--some from previous books "came on stage." The narration was so wonderful, I felt I could see everything going on.

Of course, I got another chance to hear some of my favorite narrators, including The Unicorn! I also got to meet a few new voices that I'll be seeking out to hear more from them.

Cute full cast audiobook!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💛🖤💜
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😕🤬🤯😎

The Hero: Jason - a British man living in New York. Jason has more than a few irons in the fire. He is a journalist, he has a blog, and he works as a groomsman for hire on the weekends, just about anything he can to make an extra buck.

The heroine(s): Truly - the owner of a kitsch bar in New York and wants to open another, she is married to her work but often hangs out with her brothers best friend, who is now her friend as well.

The Story: Truly and Jason hang out together and six months ago had a drunken night which they say never should happen again. Truly once had a best friend that fell for her brother, and when things didn’t work out, she dropped Truly as a friend. Since both she and her brother are good friends with Jason, she doesn’t want the same thing to happen.

Though the more time they spend together the more they remember that night they had together and want to repeat it. It doesn’t help that Jason has a filthy mind, likes to make suggestive remarks and loves to flirt with Truly.

I absolutely loved the narration which was done by a full cast. Shane East has a deep voice and sexy British accent so was perfect for Jason, and I loved how he spoke his thoughts in a lower voice when he was with other characters. Andi Arndt was great as usual and the rest of the cast included a lot of names that are big in romance narration like Jason Clarke, Sebastian York and Zachary Webber. The only thing missing was background noises like I have heard in a few full cast narrations. Though I still give it five mic’s for narration.

I didn't totally gel with this book. I found myself having to try and stay in it for quite a bit of the book. That's not to say that I didn't love Jason and his quirky sense of humour. Plus the book cover certainly didn't hurt him (swoon!). And I liked Truly - she was a pretty solid character.

Jason Reynolds is an Englishman in New York working both as a fill in groomsman at weddings while also branding a career as an advice guru - the Modern Gentleman. He takes his jobs seriously and puts work first, especially so he can put his little sister through school and also to make something of himself. Truly Goodman is also a workaholic devoted to her bar - the Gin Joint. The two of them have been friends for eons with her twin, Malone, being Jason's best friend. But these two are wildly attracted to each other and about six months before the book begins they had a one night stand. They tucked that away and while they banter, argue and flirt constantly, they have vowed to revert back to just friends. And they seem to make it work besides all the constant innuendo that floats on the surface.

But when Jason needs a girl to be his new date to the weddings he fills in at and Truly needs help with fashioning a plan for a new English pub themed bar, the two of them offer to help each other out with their business commitments and that means spending a helluva lot more alone time together. And of course, the attraction is there bubbling under the surface just waiting to erupt.

While this should have been a stellar read for me, I kind of got bored of the constant back and forth. I understand the whole 'this is my best friend's little sister trope' and 'we can't because of my brother' but in this book, the stakes were never raised high enough for me to feel like they were dancing in dangerous territory or things would erupt. I also felt Jason caved quickly after his new found declaration for Truly and she just kind of went along with it. I guess the book just wasn't strong enough for me and what a waste with such a gorgeous Englishman on the cover!

Also what probably made this book less than all out satisfying for me was the fact that it's labeled a standalone but there are all these other characters that have already been introduced into this world Lauren Blakely cut out, and Truly's twin's book (Malone) came before this one so I felt like I was missing out on pieces of the foundation and all the extra characters kept making appearances taking time away from Jason and Truly so it felt like a group book with the two sneaking around in the middle. I have no clue how I might have felt if I had already been following this gang along and had a better sense of backstory.

Ultimately, this wasn't a bad read. Jason was good looking, witty, had some very funny inner dialogue and was a great flirt. The writing wasn't bad at all though I felt it stretched on a bit. And some of the cast of other characters had some glib and funny moments to add.

Since I haven't read any before, I'm going to go with this was a mostly 'just me' scenario and only deduct for the wishy washiness and not quite really a true obstacle in their way even though it was. touted that way.

So 3.5 stars - and .5 of that goes to that scrumptious cover!

Overall 4.5 stars
Performance 5+ stars
Story 3.5-4 stars

Lauren Blakely is setting the bar so high for audiobooks! Instant Gratification is another stunning full cast narration for our listening pleasure. Blakely has assembled such an incredibly talented group of performers to bring all her various characters to life. We get visits from old favorites (love SebYo the unicorn), but also get a feel for stories to come (Jason Clarke is so yummy). Even though I read the ebook of this title first, the audiobook is more than worth the credit since it features over an hour of exclusive extras at the end, including bloopers, songs, and even a little something something for all the couples we meet in the book. My favorite was the interview with Shane East and Andi Arndt, which was done masterfully and hilariously by Joe Arden. I may have snort laughed at some of the answers, especially the options for what Arden would name his wedding planning business ;) Audios don't get better than this!

*****

Instant Gratification was a fun and sexy friends to lovers/best friend's little sister romcom! Readers were first introduced to our heroine and hero (Truly and Jason) in Satisfaction Guaranteed, but this one can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone.

Lauren Blakely really makes our hero and heroine work for it in this one and I loved their playful banter and back and forth. The build up really set the stage for the fireworks that explode once these two give in to the connection that they so obviously share. I have to say that Jason's dirty talk was H-O-T! There isn't a lot of drama in this one, but I did feel that the will they/won't they angst was frustrating at times. It felt a little too drawn out for me, but it was worth it in the end.

Truly was a fantastic heroine! I loved her drive and ambition and her relationship with her brother, Malone, was so sweet. Speaking of Malone, it was wonderful to see him (and other previous Lauren Blakely characters) make appearances throughout the book. I love how connected her books and characters are. The epilogues (yes, plural!) were perfect and some seeds were planted for future books. I'm definitely excited for Josh and Haven's enemies to lovers story next!

3.5-4 stars

Lauren has done it again. Instant Gratification is a friends to lovers/best friend’s sister story. Truly is the sister of Malone, the hero from Satisfaction Guaranteed and Jason is his best friend. Truly and Jason have always keep it on the friends side of the relationship for several reasons with one of them being Malone. That is until they crossed that line from friends to more than friends. They decide to keep it simple and just stay friends and not let one night ruin their friendship. That is always easier said than done, feelings are now involved and when it is meant to be, you can’t stop it from happening. Watching them try to navigate around each other and not act on it was fun. The push and pull between Truly and Jason was great. The story was wonderfully written. It was nice catching up with old friends and making new ones. This book was funny, sexy, romantic and so swoon-worthy. You will not be disappointed in picking this up. Now I am off to listen to the audio because I need to hear Jason’s voice.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really wanted to love this book because....damn, that cover. ❤️ Then i started reading and found out the H was a sexy Brit...oh my. ❤️❤️

So I was super excited to read about Jason and his journey to love. Unfortunately, his journey was boring to me. Wah wah 😏.

This is a best friend’s sister trope and Jason and Truly have known each other for years. Apparently they had a night of passion 6 months ago and agreed to never let it happen again because of the twin brother/best friend thing.

As the story began to layer in other characters, I began to feel a bit disconnected. It seemed like these were characters I was supposed to know and I quickly came to the realization that this book, although appearing to be standalone, is somehow connected to other books. So then I started to wonder if the character development for the H/h happened in other books. I felt like I was missing some important character dynamics between all the various individuals in this story.

Also, the brother appears in the book, but just here and there. It felt like the H/h hung out more than the H/best friend or h/brother, so the fact that they were making a big deal about not getting involved because of the brother fell a little flat for me. Once again, did I miss something because I didn’t read other books?

The journey to the HEA was uneventful. The characters are in their early to mid-thirties and they were trying to get their careers moving forward. So a lot of the story revolved around their career pursuits.

This wasn’t a bad story, but I just didn’t connect with it. Maybe my expectation was so high with that cover, but I was just a tad disappointed. I think if you have read other books by this author and are familiar with the supporting characters in this book, you would probably enjoy this story more than I did.

Instant Gratification by Lauren Blakely
Full cast narration, starring Andi Arndt and Shane East
Stands alone well, but closely ties to the rest of the series.
4.5 Stars

I feel like I write the same review for each Lauren Blakely audiobook, because how many ways can you say that she is a genius? How many ways can you say you LOVED it? Lauren Blakely has a way of taking familiar tropes and elevating them, making them smart, sassy, sexy feel-good romances with characters you totally want to hang out with, and Instant Gratification by Lauren Blakely absolutely fit that bill to a T.

Instant Gratification Bookstagram

Sure, the best friend’s sister trope has been done over and over, but Lauren’s stood out with her perfect take on the trope. Instant Gratification is the second in the Always Satisfied Series , and it easily stands alone even though it is closely related to the first, Satisfaction Guaranteed (see my review). Malone, the hero in the first book, has a twin sister, Truly, and his British best friend, Jason. Jason and Truly have always secretly perved on each other, and even had a 1-night-stand at a wedding, but they never let it happen again out of respect for Malone.
Charlotte: As long as you don’t slip onto his dick again, you can totally be friends forever!
Truly: Thanks for the tip. I’ll try to avoid falling onto his cock.
Charlotte: Well, you do have a history of accidentally landing on it.
Truly: Purposefully. It was a purposeful landing.

I loved Jason’s jobs! He is a best man/groomsman-for-hire! What a great idea for when the groom has fewer friends than the bride or no friends at all. He is also on a podcast on how to be the perfect gentleman. With his accent, it totally works for him. Truly is looking to expand her bar business, and is working on a proposal for an English pub. Who better to help give her an authentic feel than Jason, a Brit? Jason also needed a plus one at some of the weddings he was booked at, so who better to take than Truly? This may lead to trouble folks!
“He’s too charming, too amusing, too easy to be with. He’s like a bag of popcorn. Have you ever tried to eat just one handful of popcorn?”

This one was a little slower-burn than some of Lauren’s books. Though all of her stories have career-minded couples, Jason and Truly are so focused, they don’t want love to distract them.

As always, Lauren brings the HEAT.
“All I can think about is how to get this dress off you.”
“And have you figured it out?”

“Oh, I absolutely have. I’ve mapped out the fastest way to undress you. In my head, you’re already naked.”

These two are perfect together. Everyone sees it but them. But how would Malone feel? After a bad experience in the past, he and Truly agreed to never date each other’s friends again.
"How could I do this? And by this, I mean engage in earth-shattering, toe-curling, bend-me-over-the-bed-and-take-me-hard sex with my brother’s best friend.
By the way, did I mention the sex was incredible?"

Likes:

•Smart, sexy and fun.
•Pretty low angst.
•Made me laugh.
•Can you say HOT?
•Amazing side characters.
•Visiting with characters from the previous book and even older series.
•The full-cast narration.

Dislikes:

•None.

The Narration:
Oh, how I love a full-cast narration! Especially the way Lauren does them. You can tell they are in the same room because the characters play off each other. I will say, in this case, I think it’s better sped up. Because you have multiple speakers having conversations, it sounds much more natural sped up, otherwise there are pauses between each speaker. Since talking over each other, the way real conversations are, is a little too messy sounding for audiobooks, speeding it up really helps. Otherwise, the narration was INCREDIBLE. Shane East and Andi Arndt did a great job as the leads, but the side characters were phenomenal as well. I especially loved Jason Clarke with a British accent. There is no doubt about it, Lauren Blakey's audiobooks have officially ruined me for any others. I wished I had the cast list when I was listening, so I created one!

Instant Gratification by Lauren Blakely Cast List

The Down & Dirty:
Once again, Lauren Blakely took a familiar trope and made it something completely unique and totally special. Smart and sexy, with great supporting characters, you can never go wrong with Lauren Blakely whether you read or listen. Add to that a phenomenal cast of narrators, and Instant Gratification is instant gold. I actually slowed my listening because I didn't want it to end and unlike other audiobooks, I really wanted to pay full attention and enjoy the full cast. I am SO EXCITED for Overnight Service!
Rating: 4.5 Stars, 4 Heat, 5+++ Narration

Instant Gratification was fun ,flirty and sexy.
It wasn't my favourite book by Lauren Blakely since I found myself having to force my attention on the book...which is never a good sign.

Overall, a fun read but I've read so many other books by Lauren Blakely that are so much better.

Dream Cast of narrators to an okay story.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

This book was definitely made to be an audiobook.
With a full cast and duet narration, it reaches a new level of satisfaction with the experience.

With that said, I wish the story could've levelled to the narration.
I liked Jason and I liked Truly. They were both good characters, with real life issues and experiences, but the amount of times that they said "just friends", were too much to handle!
They did everything together, and they had the hots for each other since they met, so we got that they were trying to be just friends for the sake of Malone, who doesn't gave a flying F**K to what was happening between them, so the drama was just in their own heads.
Their chemistry were really good, and I just wish their story wouldn't look so much as a merry go round all the time.

It was sweet and funny, like Lauren's books usually are, but the story got lost a bunch of times with random stuff, random couples side stories, and previous couples popping up at every corner.

I could definitely go without all the singing too.

Nonetheless, I guess it was a good rom-com.

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

I can't even make everyone who did this audiobook, cause it's like a football team!
But it was incredible! Duet narration is my favorite and a full cast is just like a dream!

The bloopers at the end though, made me laugh more than the book! 😂😂😂

Phenomenal multicast production on audio with a sweet story. That was one short, cute friends to lovers/ best brother’s friend romantic comedy in typical Laren Blakely style with lots of humor and sexy times. The story itself wasn’t anything exceptional or over the top. Probably around the 3* rating if I have to rate the story itself. It was a quick listen and it definitely put a smile on my face, but it was the audio experience that raised the rating of this one for me. Exceptional production in Birthday Suit style where each character is read by a separate narrator. It was like a movie played in my head and it was so amazing to see all those voices performing in one audio. Of course, Shane East and Andi Arndt were front and center and did an outstanding job playing their respective parts as Truly and Jason but the multicast audio production was what made this story one level up. A quick, sexy romance with good amount of humor and steam. There is bonus content at the end of the audio – some extra scenes with some of the other couples, interview with Shane East and Andi Arndt performed by Joe Arden and some bloopers which made me LOL. It was a fun listen to lighten your mood for sure. Grab it if you need something refreshing and cute. But definitely go for the audio version <3

The story of Jason and Truly is one of my favorites, friends to lovers but it’s also a brother’s best friend. Which is Malone! So if you haven’t listened to Satisfaction Guaranteed you really should it is just as amazing. But I don’t really think you have to have read that book to really enjoy this one. Jason and Truly’s connection sparks from the very first scene you can’t help but be rooting for them.

They are both very work-oriented and that helps and hinders them as they navigate this new world, it's an interesting mix of will they won’t they and who will be the one to tell Malone. It really was just a joy to sit back and let these characters tell their story. It was funny and relevant and gave me the swoon worthiness I look for in my romance books.

Again the narration was utterly fantastic, I don’t know if there are enough phenomenal stupendous words in the English dictionary that can describe this performance. I am in awe of all these narrators and Lauren’s ability to bring these fun stories to life in my ears.

Instant Gratification is the second book in the Always Satisfied series by the fabulous and talented Lauren Blakely. Queen LB strikes again with her wit, sexiness, humor and memorable characters. This friends to lovers romance is sweet, sexy, funny and steamy! It can be read as a standalone, but I don’t know why you would want to do that. Go and read/listen to Satisfaction Guaranteed.

Story:
If you already did then you remember Jason, Malone's best friend. The sexy Englishman who's a best-man-for-hire and a savvy business man helping men one podcast at a time. He's also friends with Truly, Malone's sister, and therein lies the trouble. They are just friends except that one night they shared months ago. The night he can't stop thinking about and never lets an opportunity to remind her go by. So, they hang out, flirt, pass innuendos but stay in the friend zone. Until they need each other's help. He needs a plus one to a few weddings and she needs help with a new bar concept. The sexiness and chemistry gets the best of them and they can't keep their hands off each other. But Truly is his best friend's sister. They can't be more than friends. Right? Oh so wrong! But they put up a good fight. Their need is just stronger than their will to fight it. They are hot, sexy, fun and flirty. But one of my favorite things about this couple is the are in the Bacon Haters Club! I thought I was there all by myself! Ok, seriously. Jason with his sexy accent and intelligence is swoonworthy. Truly with her beauty and smarts is the total package. I'm looking forward to more in the series and I loved seeing Charlotte, Nick, Ryder, Sloane, Malone and the whole gang!

Audio:
Once again, Queen LB has delighted us with this all star cast with Shane East and Andi Arndt leading some of my favorite narrators and a few who are new to me. Shane and Andi really became Jason and Truly. Shane's sexy accent is so delicious and he is a master at using just the right tone and inclination in his voice to portray his emotions. Andi, as always, is just fantastic. She and Lauren and are match made in heaven. And when you add in the rest of the cast, I was smiling, laughing out loud and my ears were so happy! (Joe and Zachary had me laughing out loud, Jason Clarke's sexy British accent had me fanning myself, and Lili Valente's sultry voice was perfection.

“What’s wrong with the two of you? You look like someone told you that you have to eat bacon for the rest of your lives.”
Truly gives a forced laugh. “That does seem like quite a jail sentence.”
He smiles and studies us curiously. “I feel like I should order bacon just to drive you crazy.”
“I’m not ready for that kind of punishment,” I quip,

He’s too charming, too amusing, too easy to be with. He’s like a bag of popcorn. Have you ever tried to eat just one handful of popcorn?

Charlotte: Anyway, just keep on this falling-out-of-bed path and you’ll be fine. As long as you don’t slip onto his dick again, you can totally be friends forever!
Truly: Thanks for the tip. I’ll try to avoid falling onto his cock.
Charlotte: Well, you do have a history of accidentally landing on it.
Truly: Purposefully. It was a purposeful landing.
Charlotte: Own it.

INSTANT GRATIFICATION by Lauren Blakely is book Two in the Always Satisfied Series. This is the story of Truly and Jason. I have read the previous book which was the story of Truly's brother Malone so we have seen these two characters in the previous book, but I did feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Jason is best friends with Truly's brother Malone, but he also has her as a friend. They both help each other out with their business adventures. Although sparks fly between the two they have kept things as friends until one day they weaken an given in to the taste of temptation but they try to go back to the friend zone but with each day it gets harder for them to do.
I enjoyed their story and this author was so great to put an Epilogue at the end. I know you shouldn't rate a book on if it has a Epilogue or not but for me that gives my rating a boost up everything time...love them.

Instant Gratification is another steamy read from Lauren Blakely. This time we’re treated to a blossoming brother’s best friend romance between Jason and Truly, who are themselves good friends. But Malone, Truly’s twin brother, is Jason’s best friend, so after sharing one steamy weekend months ago, Jason and Truly have put their attraction to the side and are now “safely” back in the friend zone. Yeah, okay. That might have worked if these two weren’t constantly in each other’s presence- working out, flirting, hanging out, flirting, and now working together, and flirting. They just can’t stop the FLIRTING no matter how hard they try. Or not try. And the teasing, good lord could these 2 tease each other. It’s a wonder they didn’t combust from all the sexual tension rolling off of them- they really did have some great chemistry.

Instant Gratification was entertaining and I enjoyed how focused they both were, on their jobs and succeeding at whatever they put their mind to. While I liked both Jason and Truly, this book didn’t grab me like previous Blakely books have. Although brother’s best friend is usually one of my favorite romance tropes, there are times, or rather books, like this, when I’m reminded that it can also be completely frustrating. But surprisingly, it wasn’t for the reason you’d expect in this one.

I know this review is kind of all over the place, but this book was a hard one for me to put my feelings into words. I liked it, then it was okay, then I loved parts, but then I didn't. I think I'll give it another shot on audio- I haven't listened to one of the fullcast audios and I'm quite intrigued.

The Queen of Rom/Com is back. Instant Gratification is about Jason and Truly. A little forbidden romance – Truly is Malone’s twin sister and his best friend. Truly is supposed to be off limits but that didn’t stop the little romp in the hay they had in the past. Okay so it was supposed to be a one-time deal. Jason is a successful groomsman for hire thanks to his looks and a sexy accent. Truly is gorgeous, independent business woman. An odd pair, right? But you know what they say…opposite attracts. The only thing that stands in their way is her brother Malone. They can’t shake the one-night-stand out of their minds and act all platonic especially they have to work with each other for a couples of weddings. The attractions don’t fade and they both know best friend/groomsman for hire’s occasional date status will never be enough. Now they just need to figure out how to come clean to their families and mostly importantly their truly feelings for each other. Lauren never fails to delivered a romantic comedy packed with heat, intense chemistry, hilarious sexual innuendos. If you are looking for a light-hearted and swoon-worthy romance this is a good one.

Instant Gratification is the second book in the Always Satisfied series by Lauren Blakely.

Truly is Malone's sister from Satisfaction Guaranteed and Jason his friend. Malone himself makes an appearance or two in this book. The stories of the couples from the next two books were also teased. It was cruel since both books seemed very good. All the stories in the series have couples that share history and that worries me a bit, to be honest. I am not a huge fan of the second chance romance. Thankfully in this book, Truly and Jason had just hooked up a few months before the events of the book and there was nothing more between them (romantically speaking). Both of them kept their mouths shut about it, but the chemistry was there and it made it obvious to everyone that these two would end up in some way romantically together. I loved Malones' reaction to the situation. It was very mature and I was surprised by it.

The book was a little slow and honestly, I stopped it for a couple of days and picked it up later because I had to review it. The pace got faster and the romance started going after a while, which made the book easier to read and get into. It wasn't one of the author's best works in my opinion, but it wasn't bad either. I wanted something more, maybe a little less focus on Jason and Truly's jobs, but honestly, it worked for their characters. They are workaholics and not even love could push that aside.

Overall, the book had some good and some bad parts. Fortunately, the good outweighs the bad and I am able to go with a 3.5 star rating, which I will round up on Amazon and GR.

5 star review of Instant Gratification (Always Satisfied #2) by Lauren Blakely
Lauren Blakely has become one of my go to authors for romantic comedy books; there is something about her writing that gets to me every time. This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand alone but honestly I would grab Satisfaction Guaranteed as well, it was just as good.
This is Jason Reynolds and Truly Goodman and Instant Gratification is a friends to lovers story that ticked the boxes for me.
Jason is Malone’s best friend and Truly is Malone’s sister so these two have met frequently and at one point had a wild night of passion. It was great to see Malone and his fiance Sloan making an appearance in the book as well, it is one of the things I enjoy about Ms.Blakely’s stories, old friends are always popping in to make an appearance which really adds to the enjoyment.
There is so much to like about all the characters characters Ms.Blakely writes about and I would be happy to have them as my friends. Truly is a successful business woman who owns her own restaurant and bar and is independent and focused, whilst Jason has a unique job as a Best Man For Hire along with doing his podcast’s and is just as successful. The relationship that they both have with Malone is heartwarming and adds an additional layer to the book.
The banter between Truly and Jason had me in stitches at time, it is obvious that their relationship is founded first and foremost on a strong friendship that morphs in to so much more. The camaraderie between all the friends and their support of one another is just as amazing. Did I mention the chemistry between Truly and Jason? No? Well it is electrifying and there were times that I could feel it sizzling around them.
Instant Gratification will make you laugh, it will make you smile and at times may frustrate you but most of all it will entertain you.

Instant Gratification is book two in the Always series and it was as good as the last and this time it is about Malone's best friend Jason and Malone's twin sister Truly. (I just love these names! lol)

Jason is a sexy as hell brit that bleeds sex appeal, you can almost feel it as you read into this book, and others that he is featured in, so when I heard this book was about him. I was beyond excited and Truly was meant to be off-limits to Jason but that hadn't stopped them in the past. Although, no one knew that little secret. It was made clear that these two were made for each other, but trying to fight the feelings, the attraction, the sexual attention between them both was insane. It was forbidden, they shouldn't feel this for each other. Best friends twin sister? It's a no go zone. But they couldn't help but crave each other.

These two had insane chemistry from the beginning. The sexual tension thick enough to cut with a knife. It was addictive and it is one of the many reasons I love Lauren's books. She can pack the heat, the intense chemistry into a plot and have you flipping pages, have you going crazy almost. The push and pull between the two characters were insane. It had me losing my shit to be honest. I wanted them so had, I cheered for them and it felt as though it was a constant push and pull with them, and I floved it! Gah!

The author keeps me wanted to come back for more when it comes to her books. They aren't heavy reads, for the most part, it was a light-hearted, fun and hot read, but still holds a storyline you can't help but invest your time. I have become a Lauren Blakely junkie lately. especially in audio. If you want a fun, hot, laugh out loud and even a little emotional at times kind of read then this book is for you.

Slayed it as always, Ms. Blakely.
